Auditions
We’re so glad you’re interested in joining the Brooklyn Treble Choir!
Auditions are currently open for our Spring 2026 concert cycle! We have a limited number of available spots for new members. Singers will be considered based on their voice part (Soprano 1, Alto 2, etc.) and the needs of the choir. If a certain voice part is at capacity, new singers may be waitlisted until an opening becomes available. All rehearsals are held in Park Slope, Brooklyn and will start in January. Please note that Brooklyn Treble Choir is a dues-paying organization. If you have any questions about the audition process, please check our FAQ below to see if it answers your questions or email us at bvswomenschoir.director@gmail.com.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the audition entail?
Auditions consist of learning an assigned section of a choral piece to be sung independently. There will also be a warm-up vocalization to assess range and an optional sight-reading exercise.
When and where are rehearsals?
Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights 7-9pm in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
When and where are the concerts?
BKTreble typically performs one concert per semester, with an opportunity to participate in community projects during the season. Call times are typically 2 hours before concert time. More information about concert venue is forthcoming.
How much are the dues?
Because we are an independent, community choir, we largely rely on semester dues to help cover the costs of the choir (salary of employees, music, facility rental, guest musicians, piano tuning, etc). Choir dues are $175 per concert cycle/semester.
Are there any other financial obligations?
Because we are an independent community choir, we also rely on ticket sales. Each member is expected to promote our concerts and sell at least three tickets for each of our concerts.
