Winter Tidings

  • First Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Brooklyn Heights 119 Pierrepont Street Brooklyn, NY, 11201 United States (map)

For the first time in several years, Brooklyn Treble Choir's fall semester concert will take place in December instead of November! To celebrate performing in the "holiday" season, we present our 'Winter Tidings' concert program!

BK Treble will dive into the sounds of the season with an array of familiar and new holiday works and arrangements by Kim Baryluk (“Solstice Carole”), Zanaida Robles (“Kwanzaa Songs”), Ralph Vaughn Williams (“Lullaby” from Hodie), Joan Szymko (“A Winter Ride”), David Conte (“Pat-a-pan”), Katherine Davis (“O Little Town of Bethlehem”), Matt Podd (“Maoz Tzur”, and Linda Kachelmeier (“We Toast the Days”). In addition to these joyful seasonal pieces, we will perform several movements of Antonio Vivaldi’s famous “Gloria” in D major (RV 589), which was originally composed for the treble voices of the Ospedale della Pietá, an orphanage for girls with a renowned chorus and orchestra.

Our 'Winter Tidings' concerts will take place Sunday, Dec. 3 (3pm) in Staten Island at New Dorp Moravian Church and Saturday, Dec. 9 (7pm) at First Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Brooklyn Heights. Ring in the "holiday spirit" with us this December!
